Good Monday morning. It is Phil here with episode 738 of Monday Morning Mojo. This morning I was sipping a cup of coffee about five 30. I was going through my litany of daily newspapers, news stories I was reading, and then I flipped to my calendar and I looked at all of the meetings, all of the calls, all of the conversations that I would be part of today.

And I have to admit to you just a bit. It looked a little dreadful. My day today was fully packed, and like many of us, I kind of looked at it with a bit of dread as opposed to anticipation. And then I remembered a great quote yesterday, is History Tomorrow. Is a mystery, but today, today is a gift and that's why it's called the present.

Now, that's not a quote to just nod and reflect on. It's actually a great way to live. Think about it. Yesterday is history, so let it rest yesterday. Holds a lot. Our memories, our wins, our mistakes, our regrets, the lessons we learned, the people we lost, the decision we wish we had made differently. We replay it, we rewrite it.

In our minds, we relive it even when we don't want to. But here's the brutal truth. You can't change a single thing about your yesterday's. You can only change the meaning that you give to your yesterdays, your yesterdays operate as a teacher, not a jailer. If yesterday brought you joy, carry that gratitude forward.

If your yesterday's brought you pain, carry the wisdom forward. If yesterday's brought you failure, carry the resilience forward. But don't carry the weight. Don't carry the self-doubt. Don't carry the stories that no longer serve who you are becoming. You are not defined by your history. You are informed by it, and that is a powerful difference.

Now, tomorrow is a mystery. But that's where possibility lives. None of us know what tomorrow holds, and at times that can feel scary. Other times it can feel exciting. A mystery is not a threat. It's an invitation. It means your future is not fixed. It means your story is still being written. It means you still have room to grow, to pivot, to become more than you ever imagined.

Now, think about that. The best moment of your life may not have happened yet. The most important relationship may still be ahead. The most meaningful work you'll ever do might be something you haven't even dreamed of. Uncertainty is not the enemy. It's the birthplace of possibility. So instead of fearing tomorrow, be curious about it.

Let the mystery energize you. Let it stretch your imagination. Let it remind you that nothing is final. Not success, not failure, not identity. But today, today is a gift. It is the only moment that you can actually live in.

Think about the concept of today being a gift. Gifts are meant to be opened. They're meant to be appreciated. They're meant to be used. They're not meant to be rushed through. They're not meant to be overlooked. They're not to be saved for some day. Today is where your power lives right now. This moment is the only space where you can act, change, choose, speak, rebuild, and create.

Now, we often underestimate the value of right now because it feels ordinary. But think about this. Every life change begins in a single day. Every comeback begins with a single decision. Every transformation begins with that single moment of clarity. Today could be that moment. It could be the day you forgive someone.

It could be the day you take a risk, the day you choose to let go, the day you start something bold. Or simply the day you breathe deeper and choose peace. You don't need the perfect plan. You don't need guarantees. You just need to show up fully today. If today is a gift, the question becomes what are you to do with it?

You don't have to change the world today. But you can take one step that moves you closer to the person you want to be. Maybe it's reaching out to someone you've been meaning to call. Maybe it's saying the thing you've been afraid to say. Maybe it's starting the project you've been procrastinating.

Maybe it's choosing gratitude instead of comparison. Maybe it's deciding finally to stop letting your yesterdays write your story. Whatever it is today, do it with intention. When you treat today like a gift, you bring a different energy to your life. You become more present. You listen more deeply. You speak more honestly.

You act more boldly, you love more, generously you appreciate what's here, instead of chasing what's next. That's how ordinary days become meaningful ones. That's how meaningful days become a meaningful life. Let's wrap up with a challenge, something simple, powerful and doable. Ask yourself, what is one thing I can do today that honors the gift of this moment?

Just one thing. Could be small, could be brave, could be personal, could be for someone else, but choose it. Claim it. Do it because the truth is, yesterday is gone. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. But today, this day is yours. It's a gift. Unwrap it, use it, celebrate it. Make it count.
