Good Monday morning, Cannon Nation. It is Phil here with episode 730 of Monday morning Mojo, and our final Monday Morning Mojo of 2025. I want to begin by thanking all the listeners who have reached out over the past several days with great comments on episode 729 which, of course, was the story of the Christmas guest, a poem by Helen Steiner Rice, a beautiful poem, and I want to give a special shout out to best who is from Austria, who emailed in with compliments on that very exciting that we've got listeners outside the States and around the globe that are listening in. It's, it's truly, truly humbling. We are a few short days from the start of a new year. What will that new year bring? That is a question that many people ask, but I've got a different question for you today. What will you bring to the new year? Now, for many, their intent, no doubt, is to bring more of the same. And if most of the things in your life that matter, your health, your family, your career, etc, are going well, that is a typical and presumed relatively safe approach, why rock the boat, right? You know, it is when things aren't going well that people will typically take productive steps, to make shifts, to make changes. This occurs when the pain of doing nothing outweighs the imagined risk of doing something new. But I've learned through the years that regardless of how our lives are going, there will be changes. It's just part of this deal called life. We age our kids grow up and pursue their own dreams. Some doors close while other doors open. It isn't possible to maintain status quo, so regardless of our current state, we have to be constantly preparing a better us in order to navigate the days, weeks, months and years to come. Keep an open mind. Well, that's a common theme we often hear. It's not bad advice, but it doesn't tell the whole story. In order to have an open mind, you have to constantly be learning and growing, whether it's learning more about artificial intelligence or studying weather systems, learning how to weld plastic or taking gourmet cooking lessons, pushing ourselves to develop new skills. Knowledge and awareness actually, is the process that opens our mind. This process of lifelong learning not only enhances knowledge, it strengthens our mind, and it allows us to see opportunities we might otherwise miss. It is true that none of us knows for certain what the new year or even tomorrow may bring, but the better prepared we are, the more likely we are to navigate it. Well, I want to challenge myself, and I want to challenge you in 2026 to find new things to research, to study and to perfect, because, as the old saying goes, the opportunities are endless.
