In this episode of Monday Morning Mojo, Phil shares an inspiring message about tackling big projects by breaking them into smaller, manageable tasks. He uses the analogy of boiling water to illustrate how focusing on smaller pots can lead to boiling a larger ocean, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and preheating ideas. Phil also draws parallels from his personal experience with timber burns on his farm, highlighting how preheating can accelerate progress. Tune in to discover practical tips for making 2025 your best year yet, filled with step-by-step achievements and blazing success.

I'm Phil Buchanan, Executive Chairman of Cannon Financial Institute. I designed Monday Morning Mojo to provide you with a weekly spark, a push, and a boost to your business.
and motivational insight to live your best life. Thanks for joining. Hello, Cannon Nation. Phil here with episode 678 of Monday Morning Mojo. Hoping all of you had a very merry Christmas, happy holidays, and are looking forward to the new year. I know that I am. There's a lot of enthusiasm. There's a lot of excitement as to what the new year will bring, and I know that you will be excited to pursue it.
I do hope you have a great New Year's Eve and New Year's Day and for those of you that follow college sports, I hope your team is victorious as long as your team is the University of Georgia Bulldogs. But I digress. There's a great old admonishment, it goes, quit trying to boil the ocean. Now, simply deciphered, it means to not try to take on more than can be accomplished within given time or capital constraints.
But, I'd like for us to take just a quick look at the power of the phrase and why you should focus not on boiling oceans, Thank you but on boiling multiple pots. Doing so will allow you to actually boil bigger oceans. So as you well know, water boils because of applied heat. If the amount of water is too big, it's unlikely to boil because number one, the source of heat has to be tremendous.
And number two, heat loss will prevent H2O from reaching a boiling point. If a given amount of H2O is significant. Now, the same is true for business projects. If you are proposing audacious, big, bold ideas, and you are the sole source of heat, i. e. the idea man, then the project is going to be, uh, well, it's going to be risky.
Now, however, large water can boil, especially if it is preheated. Now, preheating a project by getting smaller ideas rolling is like getting smaller pots of water boiling and then combining those pots into a larger pot, i. e. an ocean of water. The large pot will come to boil quicker because all the added water was already added.
Now I see this, this heat transfer phenomenon each year when our family does timber burns on our farm. Fire burns downwind much faster than it burns into the wind. Fire burns up a hill much faster than it burns down a hill. Now in both of these instances, the uphill and downwind fires preheat the grass and bushes ahead of the fire.
Causing the fire to catch much quicker. In those preheated spaces. So here's my idea for you for 2025, break your big ideas, your bodacious projects into smaller units, get your team engaged on bringing fire to those smaller units, and then add those preheated projects together. So that they all add up to big, big projects that can burn brightly.
Step by step, flame by flame, make 2025 your best ever. Happy new year, everybody. Monday morning Mojo is a production of Cannon financial Institute, executive producer of Monday morning.
