Certified Corporate Trust Professional® (CCTP®)
The Certified Corporate Trust Professional® is a certification for professionals working in Corporate Trust activities in the public and private sectors. It is based on an established set of industry-wide competencies that cover the concepts, rules, regulations, laws, and standard operating procedures that the candidate should be proficient in the corporate trust field.
Levels 1 and 2 include a 100-question exam. After completing Level 3, you'll take the CCTP® exam, which consists of 150 questions.

Curriculum
The Corporate Trust program consists of three courses, each building upon the knowledge gained in the previous one. This comprehensive curriculum is designed to equip professionals with in-depth knowledge and skills across the diverse areas of corporate trust operations, administration, and management within the financial services industry.
Corporate Trust I: This course provides a foundation in corporate trust, covering topics such as capital markets overview, role of the trustee, securities laws and Trust Indenture Act, fundamentals of ABS and MBS securities, municipal and corporate administration, account acceptance process, and basic operations functions and investments.
Corporate Trust II: In this course, participants delve deeper into the principles of corporate trust management. It covers policies and procedures, audits, mortgage and asset-backed securities, tax-exempt housing and student loans, defaults and bankruptcy, Trust Indenture Act procedures, litigation and depositions, and an introduction to fees, pricing, and relationship selling.
Corporate Trust III: The final course focuses on advanced topics and current issues in corporate trust. It includes critical issues and updates, proprietary mutual funds, sales tactics and product development, mergers and acquisitions, case law updates, advanced risk management issues, and global trustee issues. Successful completion of this course prepares participants to take the CCTP® designation exam.
Exam
The Cannon CCTP® certification requires designation candidates to successfully pass the certification examination as one of the requirements to earn the designation. The CCTP® certification examination allows the CCTP® Board of Standards to determine if a candidate possesses the minimum requisite knowledge expected of a certified professional in the domain of Corporate Trust.
Prerequisites to sit for the CCTP® Certification Exam
The CCTP® Board of Standards has eligibility requirements which must be met before a candidate may earn the Cannon Certified Corporate Trust Professional® designation. The exam application process ensures that candidates have met these requirements, which are:
- Three years of industry experience and a four-year degree from an accredited college or university
- Complete an approved study program
- Complete the CCTP® application
- Submit a Letter of Recommendation
- Agree and sign the CCTP® Professional Ethics and Code of Conduct Standards
- Pay the CCTP® exam fee
