Episode 7: Kyle McDonald
Joining us on the Cannon Curve today is Kyle McDonald – Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Argent Financial Group. Mr. McDonald’s story is unique in that he has driven an entrepreneurial path in an industry rooted in tradition and relatively slow to change. Prior to his role at Argent, Kyle served as an Associate Attorney at Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips; then, from 1985 – 1990, served as the Vice President & Trust Officer of Ruston State Bank. In 2016, McDonald received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for his innovative achievements and commitment to excellence; and in 2014, was recognized as Louisiana Tech Business School Alumnus of the Year.
In this episode, we will touch on the concept of humble confidence – a characteristic of Kyle’s leadership style that helped him drive Argent Financial Group to the success it knows today. We will also discuss the measured risk involved in stepping away from a larger bank to become independent, talk about the importance of finding passion in your work, and analyze the factors that are crucial to successful M&A activity. Enjoy the show!
